Me

Here and now.

Look Around You Now was created in order to draw attention to all the curious things that can be seen, felt, heard, etc. around us. Seeing my 9 months old daughters (I have twins) in their exploration of the world, from sweeping views out the window to fiddling at labels with their tiny fingers, I realise that this world we live in is still worth exploring. Now I see the world in a different way: people on a station platform make an interesting composition, a sign in a bookstore has double meaning, birds communicate not only through song but also through dance. For a while now my mantra has been “I am here and this is now”, reminding me that everything I ever need is right here, right now. Just like me.

(If all this makes sense to you: great! If not: I hope you like my posts anyway.)

Just a little edit: my girls were born in July 2010. They’re no longer 9 months old…

  1. I really enjoyed looking around your blog this afternoon, especially the observations on the attitudes of people from Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Do you have a twitter account? i’d like to follow to keep up to date with your look around you now updates. I’ve also linked to your blog from my (food) blog…

If you want to find me on twitter; it’s @LucMartin

    • Hi Luc,
Thanks! I appreciate that. I also like food blogs, although I am not much of a cook myself I do enjoy reading about it. And eating, I like good eating. :)
I don’t have a twitter account for this blog yet, nor a fb account. I spotted a how-to on your page for the fb so I’ll check that out and put it up. Possibly over the weekend. I’ll let you know.
      Take care

You have the cutest little ones!

Good mantra you have there. Living in the here and now is all that we can do and make the most of it to the best of our ability. love it! :)
